Questions you may have about using Blackboard Collaborate during SAMPE 2021.

How do I join a session?

After the page loads, type your name (FIRST NAME, LAST NAME - ORGANISATION) and select ’Join Session’  
If this is your first time joining the session, you may be asked to complete the audio and video set up and add a profile picture. If enabled, you can also use the telephony feature to communicate with other users.

WHy do I have to use Google Chrome Browser?

For the best Blackboard Collaborate experience use Google Chrome or Firefox (version 49+)
The optimal Collaborate experience for all users is with Google's Chrome or Firefox (version 49+) browsers. Chrome and Firefox support all the functionality necessary to run a full featured Collaborate session through its support of modern web technologies including WebRTC and HTML5.  You can use Collaborate Ultra in other browsers, but this will use Flash instead and will reduce the functionality and experience you have.

Why doesn't my audio or video work?

Audio and video are automaticlt turned off upon entering the session. Moderators will unmute microphones if participants are asked to sepak.

I can't get audio to work; can I use my phone to join a session?

If you can't get audio to work your computer, you can use your phone in a session. The number provided is a UK national number and call charges apply.

You must still join a session via a browser to use your phone as this is how you access the tenporary idenification number (PIN). with this personal PIN, you appear as yourself in the session.

Once in the session, open the Collaborate panel by clicking on the purple tab at the bottom right of the screen. Click on my settings. Under audio and video settings you will see the option 'Use your phonefor audio'. When you click on this you will see a phone number and pin code. Phone this number and enter the pin code to join the session.

How do I ask the speaker a question?

Please raise your hand, the session chair will ty and get to your question.

How do I raise my hand?

Press the 'raise hand' found at the right of the panel at the bottom of the collaborate screen.
