MS Teams

The Composites – Progressing from the Pandemic Microsoft Team is a dedicated networking channel which enables attendees to start a discussion thread on presentation or session recording. The recording from the live workshop taken earlier that day on Blackboard Collaborate will be published within 24 hours of the session.  Attendees can start a new post, arrange an ad-hoc audio/video meeting or private meeting. This channel available date TBC and will be monitored by our moderators so ensure there is no anti-social behaviour.

Where is the Navigation bar?

Browser and Desktop

  • The navigation bar will be along the left side of the Teams window
  • Each icon on the navigation bar is for a different feature of Teams
  • The image across shows what the navigation bar looks like
  • Teams can be navigated easily by selecting the icon that you want to use (the functions of these icons are explained below)

Activity

Clicking "Activity" (icon of a bell) will take you to your Activity page.

On this page you will find:

  • your activity feed on the left (which will show you all your current and past notifications depending on your notification settings)
  • your last visited Team on the right.

Chat

Clicking "Chat" (icon of a speech bubble) will take you to the Chat page.

Here you can:

  • create new chats with colleagues by clicking the paper and pen icon at the top of the screen
  • continue previous chats
  • chat with individuals or groups
  • audio/video call individuals or groups
