Information about you, how we use it and with whom we share it.
We are assisting SAMPE UK & Ireland Chapter, to organise their virtual 2021 Seminar by providing registration and online platform services.
We will use your personal data to allow us to process your registration, communicate with you, enable interactive services during the event and obtain your feedback about the event. We are processing the information about you for these purposes because by registering for the event, you are entering into a contractual agreement for us to do so.
In order to facilitate online bookings for our events we use a third party service ePay which is not operated by the University of Edinburgh. Details of their privacy policy can be viewed here.
If you wish to attend this event, but do not wish to use ePay, please email us at: engsampe@exseed.ed.ac.uk.
If you have given us your permission, we will share your name, affiliation and contact details with the other participants in the delegate list and SAMPE. We will not share information about you with any other third party.
After the event, we may send you a survey as it is our legitimate interest to help us improve any future events we organise.
We will hold the personal data you provided us for 36 months. If you have agreed to be contacted about future events, we will hold your personal data for as long as you subscribe to these updates. Alternatively, you can opt out of the mailing list at any time. Financial data such as a payment record will be held for 7 years but we will ensure that all information that can identify you directly is removed after 6 months.
We only use the personal data you have provided in order to deliver and improve the opportunities and services we offer in a personalised manner, to ensure each individual receives relevant information.
The information you provide will be used to:
- Provide you with information on any services you have requested and the promotion of benefits and services
- Ensure we only communicate with you about events, opportunities, or services of interest to you
We do not use profiling or automated decision-making processes. A human decision maker will always be involved before any decision is reached in relation to you.
Passwords and credentials
Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of the website or any other information systems and services, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.
Online Transactions
All payment transactions will be encrypted. Areas of the site that process online transactions make use of – and transfer data to – third-party software and service providers. All third-party software and service providers that we use are compliant with the relevant Payment Card Industry standards.
